These guys combine wonderful post-punk with straight up rebel grrrl – riot grrrl.
First and foremost – these guys are fun. This is a little tongue-in-cheek, a little lounge singer indie rocker, with a beautiful fuzzed out groovy guitar and a swing in the bass and drums.
Quiet often we trip over artists who should be national stars – and Paige Beller is the prime example of this type of artist.
I am managing “Band A” for a year. (I’m also managing the release of “Pipe” by The Styrofoam Turtles on Holy Crap Records – hey Josh and Tristen I just sent out the single to a second round of radio stations and I’ll send it it to a first round of media next week – I attached the music file directly to the email and we’ll see if that makes a difference.)
I am managing “Band A” for one year. (And I’m managing the release of “Pipe” by The Styrofoam Turtles on our label.) I am doing this because I think underground music is the best art form in the world – by far! – without a question!
We are sons and daughters of the 80s, of that wonderful intersection of classic American rock-n-roll and the indie scene with R.E.M., Social Distortion and especially The Replacements.
We played both the demo version and the recorded/band version. Because this was Halloween and because we couldn’t agree which is the nest version. Both versions are all about Dan Ezra howling into the night.
I believe in Watergate Sandals. I believe this is a Ukrainian March. Everything that is good about rock-n-roll is smashed and broken and comes through the devastation still so good.
We return to Denton Texas and Acid Carousel and some wonderful psychedelia. This is The Beatles at their most psychedelic matched with interludes of an amazing female voice and classic folk.
